I am excited to begin my second year as Director of the St. Louis Senior Olympics. I learned a lot last year and am eager to put my own touches and improvements to the Games. Last year, over 1,000 athletes and more than 200 volunteers helped make the 32nd Annual Games a huge success. This year, the Games will be held from May 24 – 29, once again at various venues around St. Louis County and I hope to build on last year's success and grow the Games substantially.
I am happy to announce new events are being offered – BulletBall, a football punt & kick, a soccer distance kick and Frisbee toss. Also, we are offering a USAC sanctioned 9-Mile Cycling Race. These new events, in addition to our popular existing events, will definitely increase the value of the Games. You will notice one significant change to this year's schedule. On Sunday, May 27, there will be no competitions due to the Jewish holiday of Shavuot. Please pay close attention to the schedule as some of the sports and event times you're accustomed to may have switched days and/or times.
The St. Louis Senior Olympics only exists due to the amazing support of our sponsors. This year, we welcome our title sponsor – US Bank – to the St. Louis Senior Olympics family. Please take a moment and click on our "Sponsors" page and view our sponsor's websites. They help make the Games possible.
Thank you as always for your support of the St. Louis Senior Olympics. I wish you the best of luck in the competition. I'll see you on the court/field/pool/track/course/alley.
Enjoy the Games!
Sincerely,
Phil Ruben
St. Louis Senior Olympics Director
